A thorough safety management system is in place which mandates safety inductions, safety training and regular safety meetings. Regular safety updates and emergency drills keep health and safety at the top of the agenda for everyone employed both on and offshore.

Weekly tours by field managers and company doctors allow the constant monitoring of health and safety practices. Monthly safety inspections, reports and SH&E brochures, bulletins and "news flashes" keep everyone informed of current situations and issues

Star Energy is leading company in Indonesia in term of its record toward the environmental management and its care for the safety and health of its employees. Its programs have been recognized by various prestigious awards from the Indonesian Government, such as: a Gold Proper Award for environmental management and community development (2008 & 2012); a Gold PADMA Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (2008); a Best (Aditama) Award for environmental practices (2008 & 2012) and also best SHE Performance for 2 million man hour safety and health worker (2010). In addition, as of July 2012, Kakap Business Unit’s offshore production had achieved 1,315 days and 5,508,872 man-hours of work without any Lost Time Incidents (LTI). Another historic milestone in our safety, FOURTH YEAR without lost time incidents.
